Happy Birthday, Granny!
If you know me well, you know that my family is very important to me... especially my grandmother. My grandmother is the head of our family and keeps us all together. She is fun to be around and quite spunky. She's a shinning light in my life and no one can ever take her place. There is so much to say about her that could take up pages of this post, but I'm going to keep it simple and fill you in a few random things about her.
1. She eats a tootsie roll pop every day.
2. She does not like coffee, but drinks a few sips every morning with a couple cookies just to say she drank coffee.
3. She was one of the five girls on the queens court in high school.
4. She called the blackberry phone a strawberry when they first came out.
5. Her nieces and nephews call her house paradise. (It truly is... Just ask Ellie!)
6. She gives money to numerous charities.
7. She was born and raised in Ohio.
8. She is the oldest of six children.
9. She gets her hair done every Friday morning.
10. She loves the simple things in life... including the Dollar Tree!
11. She worked the majority of her career for doctors and also married one.
12. When she had grandchildren she did not want to be called "Granny". (She is stuck with the name!)
13. She is a die hard gator fan (I think I'd have to say more than my husband)!
14. She eats standing up at home.
15. She loves hot fudge Sundays and Butter Pecan Ice Cream.
16. She never takes her watch off.
17. She has a heart of gold.
18. She called Facebook "spacebook" combining Myspace and Facebook. She now has a Facebook and gets on it every day.
19. She used to play tennis twice a week.
20. She developed a close relationship with her housekeeper of over twenty years and still talks to her weekly even after she retired. Her housekeeper even cooked her birthday dinner on her birthday.
We celebrated this amazing lady's birthday this past weekend and I enjoyed decorating and hosting the party. Family came to town and we grilled out the most perfect filets.
